# BIM Budgeting system | Quantity take-off and budget straight from the BIM model

Buildify BIM Budgeting turns a BIM model into a quantity take-off and a priced budget. Quantities from IFC geometry, pricing against your rate book, and the cost impact of every model version.

## Quick facts

- **Product** — Buildify BIM Budgeting
- **Vendor** — Buildify Digital s.r.o. (Buildify)
- **Category** — BIM quantity take-off / 5D cost estimating
- **Price from** — 0 € — platform, users, projects, budgets
- **Deployment** — SaaS, Google Cloud (EU, europe-west3)
- **Page** — https://buildify.cz/bim-budgeting

- **96 %** — of quantities taken straight from the model
- **10x** — faster take-off and budget preparation
- **1 source** — of truth for quantity, cost and scope
- **0 retypes** — between model, take-off and budget

## Problem it solves

The model already holds the quantities. You still build the budget by hand. BIM Budgeting shortens the path between the model, the take-off and the price.

- Quantities get measured by hand off PDFs, even though the model geometry is exact.
- Model, take-off and budget drift into several inconsistent versions of the truth.
- A model change means recalculating the budget from scratch — and nobody knows how far the price moved.
- Leadership gets a number, but no answer on what it is made of and what pushed it up.

## What BIM Budgeting works out for you

From quantities and pricing through variants to the cost impact of every model change.

**Task:** How much 250 mm reinforced concrete is in block B and what does it cost in the rate book?

**What the system computes:** The system filters the entities, computes the volume straight from the geometry and prices the item against the selected rate book or your own price list. (Take-off, Pricing, Rate book)

**Task:** How much did the budget move between model version 12 and 13?

**What the system computes:** It compares both versions, shows the difference in quantity and cost, and breaks it down to individual items — so you know not just how much, but why. (Version compare, Cost impact, Change control)

**Task:** Which items lack enough model data to be priced at all?

**What the system computes:** It flags entities with missing or inconsistent parameters before they turn into a hole in the budget. (Data quality, Model check, Risk)

**Task:** What does the budget look like if the build-up or material changes?

**What the system computes:** It computes a variant over the same model and puts it next to the original price, so the decision is made on numbers rather than on instinct. (Variants, Cost planning, Decision)

## Use cases

- **Quantity take-off** — Quantities are computed from IFC geometry and entity parameters, not from measuring drawings by hand.
- **Pricing** — Items are priced against a rate book or your own price list. Re-price the whole budget in one click.
- **Bids and tenders** — Fast bid pricing even when there are only days left before submission.
- **Change control** — Every new model version shows how far the price moved and which item is responsible.
- **Variants and cost planning** — Compare build-ups, materials and technical options over one and the same model.
- **Controlling and reporting** — Leadership sees the cost, its structure and its risks. Not another raw Excel export.

## Key features

- **Quantities from model geometry** — Volumes, areas, lengths and counts derived straight from IFC, each linked back to the specific entity in the model.
- **Rate book integration** — Price against a standard rate book or your own company price list. Re-price at any time, the whole budget at once.
- **Model → item mapping** — Rules that define how an entity becomes a budget item. Set up once, reused across the next projects.
- **Model version comparison** — The difference in quantity and cost between two versions, broken down to individual items.
- **Variants and scenarios** — Several priced variants over the same model, side by side and ready for a decision.
- **Data checks before pricing** — Missing parameters and inconsistencies surface before they reach the bid price.

## Who it is for

- Estimators and quantity surveyors
- Cost managers and controlling
- Main contractors and pre-construction
- Investors and management

## Pricing

The platform is free. You only pay for calculations and pricing over the model.

- **Unlimited users** — Invite the whole team for free
- **Unlimited projects** — No limit on models or budgets
- **2 calculations / week free** — Per user, no strings attached

Every take-off and re-pricing consumes credits based on the size of the model. Top up any amount from 4 € and spend as you go — no flat fee, no subscription.

- Minimum top-up: 4 €
- Credits never expire
- Real-time consumption overview

Try it free — 2 calculations every week without topping up credits. Need more? Top up any time.

## FAQ

### What does the BIM Budgeting system actually do?

It turns a BIM model into a quantity take-off and a priced budget. Quantities come from the geometry and entity parameters, pricing comes from a rate book or your own price list, and every new model version shows the impact on cost.

### Where do the quantities come from?

From the IFC geometry and the entity parameters. Every quantity stays linked to a specific element in the model, so it is always traceable where a number came from.

### Which rate books can it connect to?

We work with the standard rate books used on the Czech market as well as with your own company price list. Re-pricing the whole budget against a different rate book is a single step.

### What if the model does not have every parameter filled in?

The system flags those items before pricing, so you fill them in manually and know exactly which part of the budget is not backed by the model. In our experience that is typically a few percent of the items.

### Can it compare two model versions?

Yes. It shows the difference in quantity and cost between versions and breaks it down to individual items — the fastest route to change control and to justifying variations.

### How much does BIM Budgeting cost?

The platform is free — unlimited users, projects and saved budgets. You only pay for take-off and pricing calculations through credits. The minimum top-up is 4 €. Each user also gets 2 calculations per week for free.
